3 year olds (by September 1, 2023) through 6th graders are invited to join us Wednesday nights during the school year to hear a bible lesson, play games, and memorize scripture. Awana will begin at 5:45PM and will be over at 7:30PM.

Awana will begin meeting August 30, 2023.

Parent orientation meeting Sunday, August 27, at 5:30PM in the Fellowship Hall.

Awana is a ministry that provides Bible-based evangelism and graded discipleship resources for children. The name Awana is an acronym for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed,” which comes from their key verse: “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15, NKJV)”. The goal of Awana is to “reach kids, equip leaders, and change the world” by making one disciple at a time.

Each night of Awana SSFBC kids will have a great time learning about God through large group time where they will hear a true story from the Bible, small group time where they will discuss the lesson and memorize scripture, and fun game time where they practice working as a team and encouraging one another.

At SSFBC our Awana ministry counts on dozens of volunteers each week to teach, lead, play, and love each and every child that comes through the doors. Any volunteer that serves in the children’s ministry at SSFBC must pass a background check. Anyone who serves in a teaching position must be a member of SSFBC. It is very important to us that each child is safe, being taught correct doctrine, and hears the gospel in an age-appropriate, clear way.

To assist in covering the handbook, snack, and supply costs, a $10 per child registration fee is requested. Payment can be made online by clicking the button below or in person.
