ALVINO VALDEZ- Associate Pastor
Alvino Valdez and his wife Lisa have three children, five grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Alvino worked with at risk youth for 16 years for the Texas Youth Commission prior to answering the call to ministry. Alvino also served as pastor of High Valley Baptist Church at Bend, Texas for approximately 2 years prior to coming on staff at SSFBC. Alvino has degree in theological studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is a Certified Biblical Counselor. Alvino has a passion for evangelism, discipleship, and promoting loving relationships among the Body of Christ.

KELLI BARKER- Children’s Minister
Kelli Barker has been a member of the staff at San Saba’s First Baptist Church since 2003, having been named Minister of Children in September of 2013. She also serves as the church’s Office Manager. She and her husband, Darrin, have two grown sons and six grandchildren. Kelli is a native of San Saba, and has an Associates Degree in Religion from Liberty University.

J.D. BARKER- Youth Pastor
J.D. Barker has served has youth minister since August 2016. He and his wife, Michelle, have two sons, Walt and Brantley. J.D. is a native of San Saba, graduating from San Saba High School in 2005. J.D. earned his Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of North Texas in 2009. During his time in college, J.D. served in the college ministry of Denton Bible Church in Denton, TX. He also completed the Young Guns discipleship program, taught by Denton Bible’s senior pastor, Tommy Nelson. J.D. has a passion for youth and a desire to make disciples of Christ who in turn make disciples.

RODNEY PAYTON- Worship Pastor
Rodney Payton moved to San Saba from the San Antonio area in January of 2018 to serve as Worship Pastor at SSFBC. Rodney and his wife, Djuana, have three married children who love the Lord and serve in their local church. They are also blessed with eight grandchildren. Rodney has a bachelor’s degree in music from Hardin-Simmons University as well as graduate studies from Criswell College in Dallas and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He has been serving in music ministry since 1990 serving churches in Weatherford, the Metroplex, Ozona, and in the San Antonio Area. Rodney has leadership experience in instrumental and vocal music. Rodney and Djuana have a passion for congregational worship and families.
